RJK had acquired in 2005, through staking, a 5.3 sq. km property with known uranium and gold showings located approximately six kilometers east of the seaport at Churchill, Manitoba. Historical chip sampling had returned grades of between 1 to 3 grams/ton gold and between 1/2 lb to 1 lb/ton U3O8 in individual grab samples.
The mineralization is hosted within the Omarolluk Formation sediments consisting of Quartzite and Quartz Pebble Conglomerates. Quartz Pebble Conglomerates are important hosts for uranium deposits and make up approximately 13% of the worlds uranium deposits with the well known examples being Canada’s Elliott Lake (U) with 140,000,000 tons at an average grade of 1.8 lbs/ton and South Africa’s Witwatersrand (Au/U).
During the spring of 2007, RJK staked an additional 31.2 sq.km for a total of 36.5 sq.km of favorable land position. A drill rig has been secured and a drilling program is planned for the fall.
